Focus Items

• 50% OFF Perennials-Start tossing bad product this week to prepare for Holiday. Only keep the best product that will sell!
• 50% OFF Trees, Shrubs, & Roses
  • Move boxwoods to apron table 1.
• Birch logs should be merchandised in farmers markets.
  • Need pictures uploaded under “Holiday” of all stores that received them.
  • Merchandise them on pallets or in whiskey barrels.
  • They should not be merchandised on or under perennial tables/endcaps.
  • Transition birch into Christmas sets when we start to ship Holiday.
• Remove Perennial headers but keep the hardware in the Y frame.
• Organize your totes/2026 outdoor signage. Save 12x24 and 5x8 signs for next year so stores have extra.

 

Holiday Preparation

• Blocks need to be straightened on all apron tables and endcaps where we are displaying our product. This needs to be a big focus this week in the Central Region and Wisconsin.
• Tables that are beyond repair will need to be taken down, swept out, and rebuilt. Do not straighten tables being used for tree corrals.
• All tables need to be flat unless stores have three tier burpee racking we plan to use.
• Annual tables closest to the garden center sliding doors need to be flat and blocks need to be straightened. Any other eight-foot AD sections we will use inside the garden center.
• Ensure all perennial headers are taken down in the back of the inside garden center.

 

Early Season Merchandising

• Initial shipments we should have presence by the main entrance of the store. This will be store by store depending on garden gate hours and store volume.
• Expect the heaviest customer traffic here until garden gate hours are extended. Once Christmas trees arrive at stores
• Utilize extra metal, pumpkin displays, and monster racks to display holiday product.
• Water containers as needed.

 

Sign Kits

• There are no header signs this year!
• Check the MET bay in receiving, the training room, or the manager’s office.
• Schedule has been sent out.
• HF 5x8 sign kits will be handed out by Districts.
• 5x8 sign replacement have been delivered to the farm.
  • Travis will work with Districts to hand them out.

 

HF/ Direct Shipments

• There could be a few changes due to weather but here is the current plan.
• Minnesota
  • HF Holiday round 2 ships to Minnesota this week.
• Direct ship spruce tops
  • October 26th Week
    • 2 Trucks: Teams are in place and plan has been sent out.
  • November 2nd Week
    • 2 Trucks: Plan will be sent out this week.
  • Direct ship greens
    • November 2^nd Week
      • 1 Truck: Plan will be sent out this week.
    • Wisconsin & Illinois
      • HF Holiday shipments start November 2nd Week.
    • Missouri
      • HF Holiday shipments start November 16th Week.

Vendor Notes

Growscape

• Revisit fall yard art and make displays are condensed and in a high traffic area near the registers.
  • Ensure product is signed at 50% OFF.
• Botanical schedule has been sent out, and all stores should be delivered.
• Work with your MET team supervisor to locate the displays.
• They should be cut open and worked on the racetrack across from indoor Christmas sets until Holiday greens are shipped then displays need to be moved outside under the hardtop near registers.
• Upload pictures under “Holiday” this week.

 

Altman Outdoor

• NP has the greenlight to toss all outdoor product this week.

 

Pinery

• Fall pinery is 50% OFF and should be merchandised on an apron perennial table.
• Holiday product will ship this week and should be merchandised in the IGC on AD sections or a greens table.
• Product may need to be protected Nov. 9^th week but needs to be merchandised and taken off wooden shippers.
• Pictures need to be uploaded under “Holiday” on Air this week.
  • All stores need to be accounted for.

 

Accelerator Trees-Make sure they are signed with shrubs at 50% OFF.

• Condense trees where we have sold down.
• 12x24 signs need to be put up in all stores.
