Outdoor Guidelines

 Holiday Manual has been sent out and is updated on the HF APP.

 

Holiday Focus Items

  • Garden Gates need to be open. If they are not, talk to a manager. 
  • Work with managers to clear snow in between tables so customers can shop our product.
  • Shake snow off containers and greens where needed.
  • Hanging Baskets can be worked on table runs going forward.
  • Sticks bundles, pinecones, picks, etc. can be removed from store containers and worked on IGC tables to fill holes.
  • Revisit all 5x8 signage.
  • Work with shrub partners to get all Black Friday items together and signed. All four items need to be in one location.
    • Option one by The Front Entrance.
    • Option two available Apron space closest to the gates.
    • Option three IGC table closest to the register.
  • Include Clesen in your outdoor pictures going forward.

 

 Shipping

  • Shipping 133 stores this week Monday-Wednesday.
  • Direct ship schedule for MN has been sent out.
  • Select stores will only receive Black Friday items. List has been sent out.
  • Clesen deliveries will be shipping Tuesday/Wednesday this week. Schedule will be sent out ASAP.

 

 

Signage (PowerPoint has been sent out and will be uploaded on the HF App)

  • Black Friday signs should be handed out.
  • Use our 5x8 preprinted signs in AD sets with Special Buy Toppers.
  • Stinchcomb and Cottage Gardens will assist with BFS signs.

           

Trees/Shrubs

 

  • They should all be tossed.

 

CC Racks-EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO A STORE SWEEP THIS WEEK.

  • Scan all racks inside and outside at each store.
  • If racks don’t scan treat them like they are ours. There is empty table space at every store to work product onto tables.
  • If the store or other vendors are using our racks contact your District Supervisor.

  • Organize racks on the side of buildings.
  • Make sure racks are taken out of the IGC at the end of your shift.
  • Notify Jeremy Allen when you have a surplus of empty racks.

 

Third Party Merchandising

 

IL: Rio and Plainview

WI: Rio (DM Grahams District), Altman, Plainview, and Costa

Altman

 

  • Holiday product will be shipping, and displays should be End capped on Altman runs.

 

 Plainview Cactus

 

  • Remove wooden racks off CC racks upon delivery. This will need to be done with a forklift.
  • Racks need to be in the racetrack or End capped in cactus runs.
  • Rotate and cull weekly.
  • Treat this product like it is ours.


 

 

 Safety

 

        Slips/Trips/Falls- How to prevent.     

  • Pallet and Pallet Jack Safety-proper usage of pallets, no riding the pallet jack, don't leave empty pallets sitting, keep jack from being a trip hazard, use pallets that are safe (no nails sticking out or broken boards.  Keep pallets even to avoid trip hazard.  
  • Hoses and proper use-not leaving strung out, putting up wet floors signs, draining the hose after use, cleaning up the floor(squeegee), putting up a sign in crosswalks where people may walk.  Make sure the hose is in good working condition (no leaks or holes)

Ladder Safety

 

  • Proper techniques while using, locking it before use, don't lean over the edge, use the stairs properly.  Make sure tables are stable and you are using a ladder to access the table before climbing on to hang signs.
  • Do not stand on the table to get plants off the top shelf of racks.
  • Do not walk on the table edge if you must climb on it.  Especially end cap pieces.
  • Having proper nonslip footwear.
  • Cut off shrink wrap entirely to prevent a trip hazard.

How to handle Extreme Temps (Cold and Heat)

  • Avoiding/preventing heat stroke-drinking lots of water, using PPE (hats, glasses, long sleeves) taking breaks when needed.  Wearing sunscreen
  • Proper cold protection-wearing warm clothing and gloves, avoiding icy areas (get salt)
  • Wearing appropriate work attire- no open toed shoes, heels or shoes that are slippery.    

Empty CC Racks

 

  • Cut banners and zip ties off racks.
  • Clean garbage off racks.
  • Pick one spot in the back of the store to use the entire season for empties.
  • Send back starter and gallon trays on one rack.
  • Notify Jeremy Allen when you have a surplus of empty racks.
