    • Illinois team keep product on racks by the Main Entrance. Certain stores may have to go down the fertilizer isle or inside the store on Wednesday night. Check your weather every day!

      • Apron/IGC tables need to be completed this week with exception of Northern Wisconsin/Minnesota. Deadline for all stores is Friday March 13th.

    • Apron Table 1 Signage (BMSM Slip Sign) 2026 signs are not ready but use last year’s VG BMSM signs this week.

     Safety

     

            Slips/Trips/Falls- How to prevent.     

    • Pallet and Pallet Jack Safety-proper usage of pallets, no riding the pallet jack, don't leave empty pallets sitting, keep jack from being a trip hazard, use pallets that are safe (no nails sticking out or broken boards.  Keep pallets even to avoid trip hazard.  
    • Hoses and proper use-not leaving strung out, putting up wet floors signs, draining the hose after use, cleaning up the floor(squeegee), putting up a sign in crosswalks where people may walk.  Make sure the hose is in good working condition (no leaks or holes)

    Ladder Safety

     

    • Proper techniques while using, locking it before use, don't lean over the edge, use the stairs properly.  Make sure tables are stable and you are using a ladder to access the table before climbing on to hang signs.
    • Do not stand on the table to get plants off the top shelf of racks.
    • Do not walk on the table edge if you must climb on it.  Especially end cap pieces.
    • Having proper nonslip footwear.
    • Cut off shrink wrap entirely to prevent a trip hazard.

    How to handle Extreme Temps (Cold and Heat)

    • Avoiding/preventing heat stroke-drinking lots of water, using PPE (hats, glasses, long sleeves) taking breaks when needed.  Wearing sunscreen
    • Proper cold protection-wearing warm clothing and gloves, avoiding icy areas (get salt)
    • Wearing appropriate work attire- no open toed shoes, heels or shoes that are slippery.    

    Empty CC Racks

     

    • Cut banners and zip ties off racks.
    • Clean garbage off racks.
    • Pick one spot in the back of the store to use the entire season for empties.
    • Send back starter and gallon trays on one rack.
    • Notify Jeremy Allen when you have a surplus of empty racks.
